The Key 2 Neurodiversity
I am Ellie Kay, a neurodiversity trainer, speaker, Coach and CMC qualified workplace mediator.
I was late diagnosed with ADHD in 2022 and since then I have read every book and listened to every podcast possible on the subject (I guess you would say its my hyper focus)!
Last year I decided to leave the world of recruitment to concentrate on my passion and life mission – helping businesses to get Neurodiversity inclusion right.
I want to spread the word that inclusion does not have to be hard work – in fact, it should be quite the opposite. Diverse teams are proven to be more successful and more resilient.
I know how hard it can be to get it right and to manage people with so many different personalities (I managed a team of 7), but I believe that through knowledge and understanding, we can turn a fragmented office into a unified one. Employees work harder in companies where they feel cared for and heard. If we can get that right then retention improves and so does your reputation. In todays world wellbeing is everything!
Through my talks, workshops, training and workplace mediation, I can help create cultures which are united and happier, and where all voices feel heard and understood.
The fact that I am an neurodivergent business owner myself, managing some staff who have also been neurodivergent, means I can see it from both perspectives. I understand what its like to have a different brain, that doesn’t follow the same rules, but equally know that doesn’t give me a ticket to say and do what I please.
Neurodiversity is something we should celebrate within the workplace, it gives us different perspectives and ideas and is found to increase productivity, happiness and profit. We just need to understand it better and work with it not against it.
